An Each Way bet is two separate bets, one to win and the second to place. To place, is when your selection finishes within a set number of positions, allowing you to receive returns if your selection fails to win.
Important Tip
The place part of your bet is settled based on the place terms advertised for the event.
The place terms are visible on the event, as well as on your bet slip and display in the format ¼ 1-3.
-
1-3 is the number of places covered, this means the bet pays out should your selection finish first, second or third.
-
¼ is the fraction of the bet’s odds that is paid for a winning place selection, this means the bet will pay out at a quarter of the original odds taken.
For example, if the places being offered on an event are ¼ 1-3, should your selection finish in second or third position, you would still receive returns at ¼ of the odds taken at bet placement. If your selection finishes first, both the win and place part of your bet would win.
