Get started playing Poker at bet365. This guide provides the practical steps and helpful tips you need to begin your gaming journey.
When on site, you'll be prompted to buy chips once you've selected a seat. Or, you can deposit before joining a table by clicking the Poker Chip symbol to visit the Bank page. Need more chips while playing? Just select Buy Chips and follow the prompts.
When thinking about whether to play a cash game hand or not, you will be given a Time Bank. You start the session with a 20 second time bank, which extends by 10 seconds after every 50 hands played, up to 90 seconds.
Need a quick break? The Sit Out feature is useful during tournaments. Just remember, sitting out means you'll still post blinds and be folded automatically in certain positions, potentially leading to being blinded out of the tournament.
In Cash Games, sitting out applies to all active tables but won't affect your tournament play. When sitting out in cash games, you will not post any blinds until you return to the table.

Let us now go into poker terms and tables you may encounter whilst playing.
What is a Rake?
When you play poker at bet365, you're playing against fellow players, not the house. This is where the concept of "rake" comes into play. Rake is a small fee taken by the house from each pot in cash games.
Rake works hand in hand with the flop. The flop is the first three community cards to be dealt face up in the centre of the table.
The Rake will not be taken if the flop isn't seen during the hand. We call this our no flop, no drop policy.
Here's a quick rundown of our rake structure:

How Do Different Poker Tables and Tournament Types Work?
This comprehensive guide outlines various Poker table types and tournament formats available for players. Here's a summary and some strategic insights for each type:
The Lobby will be the first thing you see. This is the hub where you can scroll through the different tables and tournament types.
Use filters and game selection to find games that match your skill level, bankroll, and preferred format.
Let's go through the options available to you:
Re-buy/Add-on Tournaments
This tournament allows you to purchase additional chips within the specified re-buy period. You also have the add-on option at the end of late registration.
Turbo Tournaments:
A high-speed tournament, should you like a fast-paced game.
Knock Out Tournaments:
Cash bounties are placed on every player who registers. You will win a cash prize every time you eliminate a fellow player. Knock Out poker tournaments are special Multi Table Tournaments (MTT) and Sit and Go tournaments where the prize money is split. A part of this goes to the overall prize pool whilst the other part is distributed among players for each opponent they knock out. Prize pool splits will be available in the tournament description.
Progressive Knock Out Tournaments:
This is an extension of Knock Out tournaments. The player’s bounty increases as a player eliminates opponents. Part of the eliminated player’s bounty is added to your own bounty and the remaining amount is awarded as cash immediately. Percentage split can be seen in the tournament lobby.
Sit and Go (SnG):
A tournament that will start as soon as the required number of players have registered. This format is played as a single table tournament as well as in some instances a multi table tournament with a fixed amount of total tournaments.
Satellite Tournaments:
Play well in this to gain entry into another larger tournament.
Twister Sit and Gos:
Twisters are a three handed Jackpot style SnG , with a prize pool up to 1,000X your buy-in, with buy-ins from €1 to €200.
Flight Tournaments
Known also as ‘flights’, these tournaments are played over two days. You must register for a day one flight to participate.
Day one flights are played for a certain time period. All remaining players with at least one chip qualify for the final day flight. The prize pool is distributed at the end of the final day flight.
You can play in multiple day one flights, as long as you are not registered to more than one at any given time.
Mystery Bounty Tournaments:
This enhances the standard MTT. You can earn Mystery Bounties once late registration is complete. If you knock out an opponent, you will receive a Mystery Bounty. The value of the bounty is revealed once a player has been eliminated. Once the money phase of the MTT is reached, you can view all of the Mystery Bounty prizes in the tournament lobby.
Pot Limit Omaha
Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) is a community card poker game where players are dealt four (or five in some variations) hole cards and must use precisely two of them in combination with three of the five community cards on the board to form the best five-card poker hand. In PLO, the betting is structured around pot-limit, meaning players can bet or raise up to the current size of the pot.
Will anything affect how I play Poker?
Due to Poker being a game where quick decisions may be important, having a slow network speed or a slower end user device performance may put you at a disadvantage.
